Hermès Madison flagship boutique seeks a Selling Supervisor in New York to drive luxury retail sales, operations, and client service excellence.
Role & Responsibilities
- Achieve monthly and annual individual sales targets while supporting the boutique's collective sales objectives
- Organize and prioritize the selling floor to enhance the sales effort and overall client experience, maintaining stock levels of bags, boxes, stationery, and merchandise according to visual merchandising guidelines
- Process transactions with accuracy, managing CRM files, SKUs, payments, client verification, and after-sales service coordination via point-of-sale systems
- Execute opening and closing procedures for the daily till, ensuring assets are properly monitored and reported, with discrepancies communicated to management by end of business
- Approve returns and exchanges, escalating exceptional requests to management for authorization
- Implement asset protection protocols including store access, alarm procedures, key log maintenance, employee sign-in sheets, and bag checks in partnership with Asset Protection
- Execute proper EAS tagging and ticketing procedures across the sales floor and back of house, ensuring merchandise security and compliance
- Prepare for physical inventory and participate in monthly cycle counts as directed by management
- Deliver consistently high levels of service to clients, including prompt greetings, attentive assistance, and professional wrapping and packaging at point-of-sale
- Provide support with inventory preparation and replenishment as needed
Qualifications
- 2+ years of sales and/or supervisory experience in a luxury retail environment
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
- Even-tempered temperament with strong multitasking abilities
- Self-motivated with capacity to work independently while maintaining team collaboration
- Strong organizational and time-management capabilities
- Open availability to accommodate business needs and flexible scheduling requirements
- Physical capability to lift between 0–25 lbs without assistance
- Ability to maintain regular in-person presence at the company-designated work location
Skills
Experience
2+ years of experience in sales and/or supervisory capacity, with experience in a luxury retail environment strongly preferred. The candidate should demonstrate proven ability to meet sales targets, manage client relationships, and maintain operational standards in a high-end boutique setting.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent; retail training certifications or luxury hospitality credentials are advantageous but not required.

Compensation
The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 28.16 to USD 31.11 per hour.
