Hermès seeks a Selling and Service Assistant in Chicago for full-time retail operations support within its boutique environment.
Role & Responsibilities
- Accurately process point-of-sale transactions including sales, sends, and repairs; assist with opening and closing procedures under management supervision
- Deliver consistent high-quality service to clients according to Hermès service standards, including prompt greeting, product assistance, and expert wrapping and packaging
- Support the sales team with merchandising activities, including hanging inventory, restocking floors, retrieving stock, and organizing stockroom operations
- Maintain workstation and selling floor organization to ensure all point-of-sale materials, boxes, notecards, ribbon and packaging supplies are continuously stocked and floor merchandising standards are upheld
- Assist with stockroom operations including merchandise replenishment, electronic article surveillance (EAS) tagging, ticketing, and physical inventory preparation
- Provide administrative support to the after-sales department by logging repairs, contacting clients, and maintaining active service records
- Record accurate and detailed CRM information reflecting customer purchase history and sales analysis
- Answer phones promptly and professionally, delivering exceptional customer service
Qualifications
- Minimum one year of retail experience, preferably in a luxury environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with point-of-sale systems and cash handling (strongly preferred)
- Customer service orientation and ability to maintain composure in challenging situations
- Ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs without assistance
Skills
Experience
Minimum one year of retail experience, preferably in a luxury retail setting. Prior experience with point-of-sale systems and cash handling strongly preferred.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 22 to USD 25 per hour.
