The Seasonal Sales Support Associate provides comprehensive clerical and operational support to the Hermès Chicago boutique during the festive retail period. This temporary position, running from November through December 31st, encompasses both front-of-house and back-of-house responsibilities, including client service, merchandise support, stockroom management, and administrative coordination to enhance the luxury retail experience.
Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional client service aligned with Hermès service standards through prompt greetings, product assistance, and assistance with wrapping and packaging at the point of sale
- Support the sales team by managing merchandise logistics—hanging new stock, returning items to the floor, retrieving inventory from the stockroom, and maintaining optimal floor presentation
- Organize and maintain workstations and selling floor merchandise standards, ensuring all packaging materials, accessories, note cards, ribbons, and stationery are consistently stocked and displayed
- Provide operational support to client service, concierge, doorperson, and host/greeter functions as assigned
- Assist the after-sales department with repair logging, client contact management, and maintenance of repair records and status documentation
- Answer incoming phone calls promptly and professionally, providing courteous customer service and information
- Execute all additional duties as assigned by store management
Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Customer service orientation with demonstrated ability to engage clients professionally
- Meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Capacity to handle challenging situations with composure, grace, and empathy
- Ability to lift and carry merchandise between 0–25 lbs. without assistance
- Reliable in-person attendance at the designated boutique location required
