Hermès seeks a Sales Specialist for its American Dream Boutique in East Rutherford, supporting sales targets, client service, POS accuracy, inventory and asset protection. The role is an unlimited contract, full-time position and requires open availability for in-person work.
Role & Responsibilities
- Meet monthly and annual individual sales goals while contributing to the boutique’s collective target.
- Organize and prioritize the selling floor to support sales and the client experience; keep supplies stocked and maintain the floor through straightening, replenishment of new receipts in line with visual merchandising guidelines, physical EAS tagging and ticketing.
- Assist with inventory preparation.
- Process transactions accurately, including receipts, CRM files documenting purchase history and sales analysis, SKUs, payments and client verification; provide administrative support for after-sales service as needed.
- Partner with management on point-of-sale decisions and report discrepancies arising during opening, closing or general POS operations by the end of the business day.
- Keep the workstation clean and organized.
- Follow asset protection procedures, including employee sign-in sheets and applicable bag checks; apply appropriate asset protection techniques and follow key-control and merchandise-security guidelines.
- Follow physical EAS tagging guidelines and ensure products are properly ticketed on the selling floor, in the back of house and among merchandise returns.
- Prepare for physical inventory and participate in monthly cycle counts or as directed by management.
- Deliver service to Hermès standards through prompt, friendly greetings, offers of assistance, responses to questions, and wrapping and packaging support at the POS.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of sales experience; luxury-environment experience preferred, with a 3-year minimum also stated.
- Strong relationship-development and impeccable communication skills.
- Even-tempered, with the ability to multitask continuously.
- Self-starter who can work independently while collaborating with a team.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Open availability to accommodate business needs.
- Able to lift 0–25 lbs. without assistance.
- Regular in-person work at a company-designated location is an essential function of the position.
