Hermès seeks a temporary Seasonal Sales Support Associate for its Meatpacking boutique in New York to provide clerical and operational support during the November–December holiday season. Reporting to store management, this position supports both front- and back-of-house operations, assisting the sales team and clienteling staff to deliver the exacting service standards characteristic of Hermès. The role encompasses client-facing service, merchandise logistics, workstation management, and after-sales coordination within a fast-paced luxury retail environment.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide prompt, friendly greetings and assistance to clients, offering product guidance and facilitating wrapping and packaging at point of sale in accordance with Hermès service standards
- Support the sales team with merchandise handling, including hanging inventory, restocking the floor, retrieving stock from storage, and physically preparing the stockroom
- Organize and maintain workstations and the selling floor to maximize sales efficiency, ensuring consistent availability of bags, boxes, note cards, ribbons, stationery, and point-of-sale materials
- Maintain selling floor merchandise presentation standards through straightening, filling in depleted sections, and general visual curation
- Assist Client Service, Concierge, Doorperson, and Greeter/Host functions as required
- Support After-Sales operations including logging repair requests, contacting clients regarding service status, and maintaining active repair records
- Answer incoming calls in a timely, courteous manner and provide appropriate customer service support
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the store supervisor
Qualifications
- Minimum one year of relevant retail or hospitality experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated customer service orientation and ability to handle challenging situations with grace, composure, and compassion
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Physical capability to lift between 0–25 lbs. without assistance
- Ability to work reliably in-person at the designated Meatpacking boutique location
Skills
Experience
Minimum one year of retail, customer service, or hospitality experience is required. Prior experience in a luxury retail environment is advantageous.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent is expected.
