Hermès hiring Sales and Service Fragrance Specialist in London, UK. 6-month contract role combining luxury retail expertise with fragrance category leadership and client relationship management.
Role & Responsibilities
- Drive store turnover through active selling and consultative engagement with clients in the fragrance category
- Demonstrate warmth, patience, and a 'can-do' attitude in all customer interactions, delivering consistently outstanding service
- Develop expertise in after-sales support processes and communicate clearly with clients throughout the customer journey
- Build and maintain strong knowledge of fragrance products and metiers, proactively familiarizing yourself with merchandise to enhance confidence in selling
- Monitor commercial objectives and trends within the fragrance category, providing qualitative feedback to store management and merchandising teams
- Maintain exemplary CRM practices, ensuring accurate and consistent capture of client data and special orders
- Hold an established, active, and locally engaged client base, managing client relationships with professionalism and care
- Serve as a subject-matter expert on fragrance offerings, providing knowledgeable advice to colleagues and clients
- Maintain visual merchandising standards and support the VM team in category-specific displays and commercial decisions
- Support junior Sales Assistants and Sales and Service Ambassadors with complex sales and training
- Manage stock levels, cycle counts, and inventory organization within the fragrance category, implementing improvements as needed
- Participate actively in store communications, morning briefs, and in-house training programs such as H Immersion
- Support store operations on an ad hoc basis, including buying and stock management, whilst maintaining professional standards
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in luxury retail, fragrance, or adjacent beauty/personal care categories
- Proven ability to build and maintain a loyal, active client base
- Strong product knowledge and technical understanding of fragrance metiers
- Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written formats
- CRM proficiency and demonstrated accuracy in client data capture and management
- Visual merchandising awareness and eye for detail
- Leadership capability to mentor and support junior team members
Skills
Experience
Minimum 2–3 years of retail or customer service experience in luxury goods, fragrance, or beauty, with evidence of consistent sales performance and client relationship building. Prior experience in a specialist or advisory retail role is strongly preferred.
Education
Secondary education or equivalent; formal retail management or customer service qualification is beneficial but not essential.
