Hermès seeks experienced Retail Merchandising Manager in Brussels to lead product assortment strategy across 7 stores in Benelux-Nordics region, managing team and driving sales growth.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Monitor sales targets and budget achievement across métiers while managing sales through and market share objectives in close collaboration with store teams
  • Produce quantitative and qualitative reporting on activity by métier and store, communicating appropriate information levels to subsidiary, store, and European teams
  • Implement action plans in collaboration with Retail, Training, and Retail Planning to adjust purchasing strategy according to performance and market needs
  • Analyze competitor trends and price positioning to inform product strategy
  • Collaborate with Retail Planning on OTB preparation, providing strategic information and métier-specific opportunities aligned with subsidiary objectives
  • Prepare buying sessions and develop product strategies for each métier ahead of collections, aligned with diverse store requirements
  • Support stores in buying decisions to ensure coherent yet unique product offerings that enhance store identities
  • Develop assortment proposals and sizing strategies that balance width, depth, novelties, and best-seller protection
  • Collaborate on permanent assortment optimization and lead stock rebalancing and reorder initiatives
  • Ensure successful collection and new arrival launches in coordination with Retail Supply Planning, Visual Merchandising, Store, and Training teams
  • Establish regular communication routines with stores to monitor performance and adapt strategy to specific needs
  • Develop and animate Fashion métier partnerships to achieve sales and sell-through targets
  • Build connections with Visual Merchandising to translate product strategy into actionable display plans supporting sales objectives
  • Partner with Retail Client Experience teams to prepare curated product offers for commercial animations and client events
  • Communicate subsidiary vision, buying strategy, and métier development priorities clearly to all stakeholders
  • Participate as an active member of the European Merchandising Managers community
  • Establish regular sharing points with Europe, métiers, and other subsidiaries on subsidiary updates
  • Nurture and develop talent within the retail merchandising team
  • Motivate team members through recognition of individual and collective contributions
  • Foster positive team dynamics and encourage engagement and open communication
  • Conduct regular feedback sessions, identify training needs, and lead annual performance reviews
  • Cultivate close collaboration with Retail Planning, Supply, and Visual Merchandising managers to ensure comprehensive business alignment

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years of proven experience in retail merchandising
  • People management experience
  • Master's degree, preferably with focus in economics, analytics, fashion, or management
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills with ability to monitor and interpret performance indicators
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and familiarity with retail dynamics
  • Fashion and product trend sensitivity

Education

Master's degree, preferably with focus in economics, analytics, fashion, or management.
