Hermès Quality Assurance Manager (6-month contract) in Pantin—oversee finished goods quality across manufacturing network.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead quality management and competency development across the tannery and manufacturing network
- Conduct and coordinate scheduled audits for finished goods, quality standards, and craftsmanship on-site and at logistics facilities
- Detect and anticipate customer usage patterns and quality risks during new product development via formal risk analysis (FMEA)
- Monitor and execute action plans to mitigate identified risks, including appropriate testing protocols and product refinements
- Validate prototypes and pre-production samples in partnership with technical development teams
- Define quality criteria specific to products and validate control procedures proposed by manufacturing sites
- Orchestrate wear-testing programs, alert stakeholders to identified risks, and communicate recommendations
- Ensure compliance with quality criteria across all manufacturing locations through regular on-site audits during production and final inspection
- Support tanneries in problem-solving and formal incident management (8D methodology) when quality issues arise
- Monitor key quality metrics (rejection rates, second-choice goods, waste, customer complaints)
- Manage network-wide quality escalations by analyzing root causes with methodology, formalizing decisions rapidly, and communicating with affected business units
- Collaborate with craftsperson development teams to support tanneries' continuous improvement and skills-enhancement initiatives
- Coordinate quality expectations and sampling procedures with the logistics centre
- Adjudicate disputed quality cases and support after-sales processes
- Analyze and report customer returns to tanneries; construct and oversee corrective action plans with regular progress communication
- Lead working groups on product, process, or craftsmanship improvements; capture early-warning signals from the retail network
- Analyze counterfeit inquiry reports and contribute expertise
- Develop and monitor leading quality indicators (defect rates, after-sales, second-choice classification, customer complaints) to define product, process, and craftsmanship improvement priorities
Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent engineering qualification
- Minimum 6 years of professional experience in quality management
- Proven background in luxury goods, perfumes and cosmetics, leather goods manufacturing, footwear, or textiles/apparel production
- Proficiency in essential quality management tools (8D, FMEA, 5 Whys, QQOQCCP, surveillance plans)
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite; Power BI experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to lead meetings and present to stakeholder groups
- Demonstrated capacity to arbitrate decisions, lead cross-functional projects, and drive organizational change
- Strong product and technical acumen with demonstrated commitment to operational excellence

Skills
Experience
Minimum 6 years of professional experience in quality management, ideally within luxury sectors such as perfumes and cosmetics, leather goods, footwear, textiles, or apparel manufacturing.
Education
Master's degree or equivalent engineering qualification in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
