Hermès seeks Project Procurement Buyer for 6-month contract role in Normandy, France. Lead supplier management, cost analysis, and new product sourcing.
Role & Responsibilities
- Research, reference, and manage competent partners for manufacturing Hermès components and ensure durable relationships respecting optimal economic conditions for both parties
- Conduct thorough due diligence on suppliers regarding financial health, governance, mutual dependencies, and competitive positioning to secure procurement strategy
- Develop cost breakdown sheets for new products and commit purchasing allocations for all necessary components
- Manage required capital investments for component manufacturing at supplier facilities
- Lead market attribution following request-for-proposal processes and award procurement contracts
- Draft and activate necessary contracts per specifications provided by various departments
- Monitor and control invoices for peripheral costs, investments, and components/services within assigned responsibility areas
- Support supply team with management of missed delivery deadlines and escalation of quality incidents when required
- Track accounting events on supplier invoicing in cases of dispute
- Participate in regular exchanges with catalog buyers to establish supplier panel selections and declare market attributions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (Bac +4) to Master's degree (Bac +5) in Procurement or Supply Chain
- Minimum 5 years of significant experience in a Project Procurement function
- Professional mastery of office software and ERP systems
- Thorough knowledge of purchasing processes and practices
- Strong negotiation aptitude
- Fluent business-level English
- Demonstrated autonomy, initiative-taking, rigor, organizational skills, and methodical approach

Experience
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a Project Procurement or Project Buying function, ideally within luxury goods, personal accessories, packaging, or related sectors. Prior experience managing supplier networks, cost optimization initiatives, and capital investment projects strongly preferred.
Education
Bachelor's degree (Bac +4) to Master's degree (Bac +5) with specialization in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.
