Hermès Manufacture de Métaux — Project Development Intern (6-month internship) in Roye, France. Start Sept 2026; support prototyping, tests and process documentation.
Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct a technical study of recurring design issues and establish a test plan to identify influential parameters.
- Coordinate and launch prototype fabrication and supervise experimental trials.
- Analyse test results, derive design rules and benchmark findings against existing standards.
- Perform technology watch to identify alternative materials, processes or solutions.
- Map project development tasks and produce a concise process flow (logigram) to formalise a métier standard.
- Work in tandem with an experienced project manager to follow a development project from brief reception through mock‑ups and preseries.
- Contribute to schedule construction, prototype follow‑up and preliminary industrial costing (cost of goods).
- Support subsequent project phases during the six‑month internship period.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in or holding a Bac+4/5 university or engineering degree in mechanical engineering or industrial/mechanical design.
- Basic knowledge of metallic materials and manufacturing processes preferred.
- Beginner familiarity with SolidWorks (ability to open, consult and manipulate 3D files and produce simple drawings) is required.
- Project management literacy; familiarity with MS Project is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills, service orientation, active listening and eagerness to learn.
- Solution‑oriented mindset, collaborative disposition and strong analytical and technical writing abilities.

Experience
Internship-level role; no prior professional experience required. Prior internships or academic projects in mechanical design, product development or prototyping are advantageous.
Education
Master's degree or engineering diploma (Bac+4/5) in mechanical engineering or industrial/production design.
