Hermès seeks Production Development & Industrialization Manager for Vivoin tannery. Lead innovative leather manufacturing projects, manage multidisciplinary teams, and drive continuous improvement.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead the industrialization of new finishes by coordinating multi-functional project teams spanning workshops, supply chain, quality, hide sorting, and engineering disciplines
- Validate production capacity, manufacturing specifications, and processing times while identifying viable technical solutions
- Supervise the development and validation of new colorways, communicating progress and outcomes to the relevant business units
- Ensure regulatory compliance of finishes and chemical components against applicable regulations and technical specifications
- Design, build, and monitor continuous improvement plans for existing processes and manufacturing procedures
- Partner with production teams to resolve quality challenges and implement corrective actions
- Develop and upskill technical teams and assistant technicians through structured training and mentoring
- Contribute to the site's budgeting processes and strategic planning initiatives
- Foster a team culture centered on safety, quality excellence, and continuous operational improvement
Qualifications
- Minimum 10–15 years of professional experience in leather manufacturing engineering or industrial production management
- Deep expertise in leather fabrication techniques and industrial process management
- Proven ability to lead complex, multidisciplinary projects with methodological rigor and adaptive flexibility
- Strong pedagogical skills and ability to inspire commitment across diverse team structures
- Demonstrated comfort operating both in analytical and field-based environments with practical, results-oriented pragmatism
Skills
Experience
Minimum 10–15 years of professional experience in leather manufacturing, tanning processes, or industrial production engineering. Proven track record of successfully industrializing new production finishes, managing technical projects at scale, and leading cross-functional manufacturing teams toward demanding performance targets.
Education
Engineering degree (preferably in chemical engineering, materials science, mechanical engineering, or industrial engineering) or equivalent professional qualification in leather technology or industrial processes.
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in Vivoin, Pays de la Loire, France, with easy access to Le Mans.
