Hermès IoT Design Engineering Internship in Pantin — six-month product development role blending creative design with technical prototyping.
Role & Responsibilities
- Receive and translate creative briefs into technical product specifications and design requirements
- Research and select materials aligned with creative intent across leather goods, textiles, and multi-material applications
- Evaluate mechanical solutions and technical mechanisms to meet design and functional objectives
- Perform 3D modelling using SolidWorks for product conceptualisation and prototyping guidance
- Coordinate rapid prototyping activities within the internal workshop and with the integrated master craftspeople and subcontracting partners
- Anticipate and integrate industrial manufacturing constraints into mechanical product design
- Monitor technological developments within leather goods, textiles, and multi-material sectors
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams including design, engineering, and artisan craftspeople
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing an engineering degree, generalist or mechanical specialisation preferred
- Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks) and/or vector design tools (e.g. Adobe Illustrator)
- Hands-on experience or demonstrated appetite for physical prototyping, both traditional and rapid prototyping techniques
- Mastery of standard office software and productivity tools
- Fluent English proficiency, both written and oral
- Strong interest in artisanal and industrial manufacturing practices
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for technology and consumer electronics

Beginners accepted; no prior professional experience required. Demonstrated project work, academic portfolio, or personal projects showcasing design or engineering capability are advantageous.
Education
Currently enrolled in a general engineering programme or mechanical engineering specialisation; final-year students or those in penultimate year preferred.
