Luxury jewelry brand seeks Procurement Manager, Gemstones in Pantin, France. Lead strategic sourcing, supplier management, and team development for precious materials.
Role & Responsibilities
- Define and execute procurement strategy by gemstone category, balancing economic viability with creative requirements
- Pilot budgets, margin objectives, and revenue targets whilst supporting partner diamond cutters and lapidaries in aligning with the maison's aesthetic vision
- Optimize and secure purchasing prices and commercial terms with supplier partners
- Monitor key performance indicators including average purchase price, margin, stock rotation, sales revenue, service rates, and quality standards
- Guarantee availability of gemstones for collection launches and establish a formalized process for stone development
- Collaborate with the creative department on gemstone selection, ensuring alignment between design ambitions and market constraints
- Structure and execute risk assessments for raw materials and validate feasibility across competing priorities
- Lead and develop a team of procurement specialists and data analysts, building expertise in market dynamics, technical specifications, and negotiation
Qualifications
- Proven track record in strategic procurement, category management, or supply chain leadership within luxury goods
- Deep expertise in gemstones, diamonds, precious stones, or equivalent luxury materials sourcing
- Demonstrated ability to balance commercial objectives with creative and quality imperatives
- Strong financial acumen with proven experience managing budgets and margin performance
- Experience managing and developing high-performing procurement teams
Skills
Experience
Minimum 7-10 years of progressive procurement or supply chain experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or strategic sourcing capacity. Substantive exposure to luxury materials sourcing, gemstone procurement, or high-value commodity purchasing is essential. Prior experience interfacing with creative design teams and managing complex supplier partnerships is strongly preferred.
Education
Graduate degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related discipline; alternatively, professional certification in procurement, supply chain management, or equivalent demonstrated expertise.
