Hermès seeks a Methods Assistant (apprenticeship) in Champigny‑sur‑Marne, France. Support process improvement, tooling design and machine qualification on an artisanal production site.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support continuous improvement of production processes to raise quality, efficiency and repeatability on an artisanal production site.
- Develop, specify and follow up design and fabrication of production tooling and fixtures to meet shop‑floor needs.
- Conduct Design of Experiments (DoE) and perform R&R assessments for production machines and measurement systems.
- Configure and parameterize production equipment, including robotic cells and machine‑vision systems, and assist in their qualification.
- Adapt and improve workstation layouts and ergonomics to optimize artisan workflow and safety.
- Write and maintain job descriptions, machine/product operating procedures and standard work documentation.
- Coordinate with suppliers for tooling and equipment needs and follow supplier deliverables.
- Contribute to deployment of 5S and tooling management standards within workshops.
- Accompany artisans on the shop floor, drive adherence to performance indicators and support problem‑solving activities.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bac+4 / Bac+5 engineering program with a specialization in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Apprenticeship (alternance) contract; beginners and students are accepted.
- Strong autonomy, organisational skills and a pragmatic, hands‑on approach.
- Proactive mindset with initiative and service orientation, focused on practical problem resolution.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with artisans and production teams.
- Rigour, reliability and a clear preference for on‑the‑floor, production‑oriented work.

Experience
No prior professional experience is required; the position is designed for engineering students in an apprenticeship program. Beginners are accepted and will receive practical, supervised exposure to methods and production engineering on site.
Education
Enrolled in a Bac+4 to Bac+5 engineering programme with a focus on industrial or mechanical engineering.
