Hermès Horloger, Le Noirmont: Mechanical Operations Manager to lead tooling fabrication, maintenance, and a team of 5 specialists.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Organize, plan, and coordinate fabrication missions and maintenance activities for a team of five specialists (polymechanics, stamping engineers, and tool adjusters) while fostering continuous skill development
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with industrialization teams and production departments to ensure alignment and collective performance
  • Guarantee tooling availability and delivery timelines in coordination with the Technical Bureau and production leadership
  • Assess machinery and tooling needs, oversee maintenance schedules, manage inventory, and anticipate departmental resource evolution
  • Establish refined capacity management and relevant performance indicators (KPIs) to capture expertise and facilitate coordination meetings (AIC)
  • Demonstrate mastery of tooling fabrication processes—clamps, assemblies, stamps—and provide active technical support to mechanical teams
  • Address non-conformities with rigor and implement corrective measures
  • Continuously identify optimization opportunities to improve tooling lifespan and associated processes
  • Monitor and enforce HSE compliance, including equipment protections, dust extraction systems, and chemical safety interfaces
  • Manage departmental budgets (capex/opex) and contribute to overall service performance

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5–6 years of experience in a similar mechanical operations or tooling management role
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical engineering and tooling fabrication, with specific expertise in stamping processes preferred
  • Technical training and certification in mechanical disciplines
  • Proficiency in common office software (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint)
  • CAD knowledge, CNC machine programming, and Lean methodology experience considered advantageous
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities with demonstrated ability to foster cross-functional collaboration
  • Methodical, process-oriented mindset with proven diagnostic and analytical skills
