Hermès Selier in Paris seeks a Materials Quality Officer (contract) to manage material quality and regulatory compliance for Men's Ready-to-Wear.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Report to the Responsable Qualité Matières et Règlementaire and act as the regulatory referent for Men's Ready-to-Wear.
  • Prepare and animate regulatory committees at both Group and Fashion Pole levels; represent the métier in cross‑functional regulatory working groups.
  • Interact with Customs teams: manage production attestations, participate in customs committees and ensure completeness of customs data in company systems.
  • Advise Studio and Production on the regulatory requirements for new materials and on accurate product labelling.
  • Participate in development reviews for collections with material development teams, assessing risks and material specifications.
  • Analyse material and component technical data sheets to define material risk assessments.
  • Launch and analyse performance tests with external laboratories and suppliers; follow up on corrective actions and material industrialisation when risks are identified.
  • Coordinate material quality control processes and manage inspection reports with third‑party control providers.
  • Create and monitor material quality indicators (KPIs) and lead continuous improvement initiatives to secure root causes.
  • Draft and update métier specifications and prepare, animate and monitor quality action plans; participate in Group material committees (leather, metal parts, textiles).

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree in textiles or leather, or a university degree with a specialisation in textile materials.
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience; a first experience in the fashion industry is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesise technical information and identify root causes.
  • Rigorous, proactive, dynamic and effective communicator capable of working across internal and external networks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; confident with business systems — experience with a PLM tool is a plus.
  • Fluent English; proficiency in Italian is an asset.
