Role & Responsibilities

  • Serve as ambassador for leather materials within the organisation and to external partners, ensuring comprehensive knowledge of materials, article selection, physicochemical performance standards, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate closely with the Expertise Pole to ensure proper test definition within technical specifications and product briefs
  • Accompany suppliers through production lifecycle management, verifying compliance with all specifications and signed technical documentation
  • Ensure supplier adherence to Hermès quality requirements during full production runs, including article consistency, choice selection, and colour accuracy
  • Support suppliers with compliance to new regulatory requirements and provide guidance on quality management implementations
  • Define and establish reception control frequencies in partnership with Incoming Quality, calibrated to supplier maturity and historical performance
  • Lead non-conformity resolution with rapid decision-making on detected defects; treat quality alerts following appropriate methodologies (8D, 5-Why analysis)
  • Manage progress plans with suppliers based on historical performance data and non-conformity patterns, deploying scorecards for supplier performance tracking
  • Support development phase industrialisation and major production changes, ensuring quality requirements are met before series production
  • Participate in cross-functional service projects and contribute to quality assurance deployment initiatives across partner networks

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in technical-industrial environments
  • Essential knowledge and sensitivity to leather and its properties
  • Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies and continuous improvement frameworks
  • Professional fluency in English (spoken and written)
  • Valid driving licence for site visits and supplier engagement
