Six-month full-time internship based in Pantin, commencing February 2027. This role positions the candidate as a bridge between creative teams, partner suppliers, and quality assurance within Hermès' Materials Development department. The intern will participate in identifying, developing, and validating materials destined for one of the Maison's 16 métiers, including leather goods, jewelry, and footwear. The position offers genuine scope to explore material properties, propose innovations, and contribute meaningfully to the development of future collections.
Role & Responsibilities
- Participate in the development of new materials in close collaboration with partner suppliers and creative teams
- Monitor and conduct material validation stages, including testing, quality analysis, and compliance verification against technical specifications
- Contribute to materials-related Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, focusing on traceability, eco-design, and responsible sourcing
- Analyze field feedback and propose improvement actions on materials under development
- Maintain technical datasheets and ensure comprehensive documentation management of referenced materials
- Build and track performance indicators for the materials portfolio
Qualifications
- Demonstrated passion for materials and keen interest in developing technical expertise within a luxury environment
- Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Power BI and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is highly valued
- Natural curiosity combined with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively within passionate and demanding teams
