Hermès Petit h seeks Materials & Colours Coordinator in Pantin, France. Fixed-term role managing materials, colour development, and artisanal production.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop colour ranges and material associations for small-series production at the in-house atelier and external workshops, maintaining Petit h's design philosophy
- Collaborate with the design collection and artists to translate stylistic intent into colour specifications for limited production runs
- Select and procure textiles, leathers, and metal components in alignment with production requirements and creative opportunities
- Coordinate material shipments to external partners according to production schedules established by the production team
- Work with stock management to ensure accurate physical and digital inventory tracking and material flow
- Maintain and curate the materials storage area, ensuring visibility, accessibility, and thoughtful presentation of available stock
- Participate in inventory audits and propose storage solutions that facilitate artist creativity and team efficiency
- Brief external manufacturing partners on material specifications and ensure proper interpretation during production execution
Qualifications
- Formal education in art, design, or equivalent creative field
- Demonstrated sensitivity to colour theory and material composition with ability to create harmonious aesthetic combinations
- Deep appreciation for artisanal craft, heritage techniques, and the symbolic value of materials
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to listen actively and understand Petit h's creative philosophy
- Proficiency with ERP systems and standard office software
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Rhino software is advantageous
Skills
Experience
Professional experience in materials management, product development, creative coordination, or related roles in the luxury or artisanal production sectors is beneficial. Familiarity with upcycling processes, heritage craftsmanship, or luxury fashion production is advantageous.
Education
Diploma or degree from an art, design, or applied arts school.
