Manager of Special Events at Hermès Paris in Manhattan, NY. Lead event production and strategic communications for luxury brand. $90K–$110K annually.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Plan, produce, and execute medium-scale event activity including institutional communication events, new store openings, brand heritage events, exhibitions, retail animations, press events, and client engagement programming, whilst assisting with larger-scale image events as required
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with the Hermès International office, regional store directors, freelance support, production agencies, and third-party vendors to ensure successful event delivery
  • Manage and supervise Special Events Coordinator on all delegated events, ensuring seamless production, adherence to event guidelines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Oversee all event production aspects including logistics coordination, vendor management, scenic design review (floorplans, build drawings, fabrication samples, renderings), and on-site event execution
  • Handle event invitation production from design stage through deployment for all delegated events, and develop guest list strategy in collaboration with CRM teams and boutiques
  • Identify and negotiate third-party vendor proposals (caterers, lighting, sound, décor, and similar services) whilst establishing market expertise and maintaining regional vendor relationships
  • Manage event financials with meticulous adherence to designated budgets, tracking expenditures, and ensuring timely vendor payments with comprehensive reporting
  • Create detailed production schedules, run-of-show documents, logistics charts, and timeline documentation for inventory movements for all delegated events
  • Scout venues across markets as needed and prepare comprehensive venue overviews; collaborate with Press and Media teams to execute 360-degree event activation strategies
  • Mentor and support the Special Events Coordinator through regular performance feedback, expectation-setting, and professional development opportunities; prepare and deliver formal performance reviews
  • Maintain close liaison with store directors, retail and visual merchandising departments, and internal communication teams to coordinate comprehensive event needs
  • Brainstorm, strategize, and propose innovative event concepts and plans; research new vendors and maintain awareness of industry trends and emerging market players
  • Travel to delegated events as required and manage workload effectively whilst on assignment; adhere to all internal audit requirements and collaborate with legal department on vendor contracts, NDAs, and insurance documentation

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in event production, management, or similar role within a luxury environment
  • Extensive knowledge of event production skills including logistics management, vendor coordination, and on-site execution
  • Exceptional project management and prioritization abilities with demonstrated capacity to manage multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Precise attention to detail and comprehensive organizational skills
  • Proficiency in team leadership, delegation, and staff motivation
  • Highly skilled in problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking
