Hermès Sellier in Pantin is hiring a Leather Mechanic (Apprenticeship) — 12-month apprenticeship starting Sept 2026 for entry-level candidates.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Assemble collection models in accordance with the Artistic Director's design intent and Hermès quality standards.
  • Collaborate daily with pattern makers, cutting and finishing teams to ensure consistent execution from prototype to final product.
  • Perform preparation, assembly and finishing operations on leather and garment components (including thermo-cutting, button and snap installation, application of fastenings).
  • Learn leather-specific mounting techniques under the supervision of senior mechanics and progressively take responsibility for assemblies.
  • Study and verify patterns prior to cutting or assembly; propose constructive adjustments and research alternative mounting solutions with pattern makers.
  • Carry out quality controls on completed work and ensure outputs meet defined quality grades and atelier specifications.

Qualifications

  • Enrolment in an apprenticeship or vocational training programme in leather goods, fashion manufacturing, industrial sewing or equivalent (CAP, Bac Pro, BTS or comparable).
  • Manual dexterity and aptitude for precision hand and machine work.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to quality control.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a small atelier team and to follow technical instructions from pattern makers and workshop leadership.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to Hermès mounting techniques; beginners are accepted.

Experience

Currently enrolled in or accepted to a recognised apprenticeship/vocational programme in leather goods, fashion manufacturing, industrial sewing or a related discipline (e.g., CAP/BTM/Bac Pro/BTS).
