Role & Responsibilities
- Fabricate high-quality leather goods (handbags, small leather goods) using traditional artisanal techniques and premium materials
- Perform precise assembly and finishing operations on various product models in accordance with quality specifications and production timelines
- Work with diverse materials and production variations while maintaining consistency and excellence in craftsmanship
- Engage in continuous learning and skill development throughout the apprenticeship and professional training pathway
- Collaborate effectively with experienced artisan mentors and workshop colleagues to preserve and advance traditional leatherworking savoir-faire
Qualifications
- Attainment or pursuit of CAP Maroquinerie (Certificate of Artisanal Competence in Leatherwork) during the training pathway
- Manual dexterity and attention to fine detail
- Genuine passion for handcraft and tactile work with materials
- Strong organizational skills and pragmatic problem-solving ability
- Ability to sustain focused, rhythmic work for extended periods
Skills
Experience
Beginners are welcome; no prior leatherworking experience is required. The role includes comprehensive training and mentorship by experienced artisans within Hermès' École des Savoir-Faire (School of Traditional Crafts).
Education
Secondary education preferred. Candidates will pursue and obtain the CAP Maroquinerie (Certificate of Competency in Leatherwork) during the structured apprenticeship and professional training pathway.
