Hermès Cuirs Précieux seeks an experienced Leather Finishing Workshop Manager in Vivoin, France. Lead 42 artisans in luxury exotic skin finishing operations. CDI role reporting to Production Manager.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Organize and plan daily production activities, ensuring quality standards, volume targets, and adherence to delivery timelines through capacity planning and scheduling
  • Manage SQCD performance indicators (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery) and ensure regular reporting to senior management
  • Oversee budget allocation for team resources, machinery, and operational expenditures
  • Guarantee maintenance of artisan competency levels, polyvalency development, and transmission of specialized leather-working techniques
  • Ensure consistent application of manufacturing standards in collaboration with support functions including Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain
  • Foster effective collaboration between the finishing department, upstream production sectors (wet processing, dyeing), and cross-functional support services
  • Implement and communicate quality control protocols and maintain knowledge of Hermès customer specifications
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives addressing technical, economic, and environmental optimization
  • Optimize workflow management to enhance operational efficiency across workshop sections
  • Identify and share best practices across departmental and inter-site networks
  • Champion safety culture by educating teams on occupational and environmental risk mitigation
  • Participate in corrective action deployment and ensure compliance with sector safety regulations
  • Develop and execute personnel recruitment and integration strategies within the finishing department
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and professional development assessments for direct reports
  • Actively participate in industrial innovation projects and support emerging manufacturing processes

Qualifications

  • Master's degree (Bac+5) or equivalent in engineering, production management, or related field
  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience in a similar management role, preferably in industrial manufacturing
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams of 30+ personnel with supervisory structure
  • Strong affinity for leather technology and understanding of exotic skin finishing processes (advantageous)
  • Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics interpretation
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management across internal and external interfaces
  • Rigorous, autonomous work approach with acute observational and analytical capabilities
  • Strong collaborative mindset with demonstrated ability to foster collective and cross-functional engagement
