Hermès seeks a Leather Cutter-Preparer in Charleville-Mézières, France. Full-time permanent role with 6-month training leading to CQP certification.
Role & Responsibilities
- Perform all preparatory cutting and preparation stages for leather goods manufacturing, from hide cutting to piece preparation using specialized equipment
- Execute precise leather cutting tasks adhering to established quality criteria and production timelines
- Prepare leather pieces for downstream assembly stages in handbag and small leather goods production
- Work across multiple machines, leather types, and production models to support diverse collection manufacturing
- Participate in the fabrication of leather goods including bags, leather accessories, and other maroquinerie items to prescribed specifications

- Capacity to make decisive decisions in material selection and cutting processes

Skills
Experience
Beginners accepted. Rigorous apprenticeship will be provided to master the craft techniques, familiarize with materials, tools, and participate in manufacturing sustainable, unique objects.
Education
No specific qualification required. A 6-month training programme will be conducted at the Ardennes facilities and Val de Vence training centre, culminating in the CQP coupeur (Certificat de Qualification Professionnelle) leather cutter qualification.
