Hermès Pantin: 6-month Chemistry Laboratory internship in analytical chemistry and material aging research. February 2027 start.
Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct accelerated aging experiments on leather samples under varied environmental conditions
- Apply chromatographic (GC-MS, LC-MS) and spectroscopic (FT-IR) analytical methods to generate chemical profiles before and after aging
- Execute statistical analysis of data sets to identify specific aging markers for each environmental condition tested
- Verify the specificity and reliability of identified markers across different leather material types
- Contribute to additional analytical projects supporting the Scientific Expertise & Regulatory Affairs team
- Document experimental protocols, results, and findings with precision and technical rigor
Qualifications
- Master's-level (Bac+5) qualification in Analytical Chemistry or related discipline
- Proficiency with chromatographic techniques and mass spectrometry analysis (GC-MS and/or LC-MS)
- Demonstrated experience with FT-IR spectroscopy
- Strong technical aptitude and methodical approach to experimental work
- Exceptional attention to detail and critical analytical mindset
- Proficiency in statistical data analysis and interpretation

Beginners accepted; no prior professional experience required. Academic coursework and laboratory practicum experience in analytical chemistry is essential.
Education
Master's degree (Bac+5) in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or a closely related scientific discipline. Final-year graduate students or recent graduates eligible.
