Hermès is seeking a Knitwear Materials Product Development Assistant to support product development and materials management for the women’s ready-to-wear collection, including PLM administration, samples, color development, traceability, quality, and yarn budgets. This six-month internship in Pantin is scheduled to start in March 2027.
Role & Responsibilities
- Participate in product and materials meetings and develop proficiency with PLM software, including coding and creating and managing components, themes, finished products, and samples.
- Support the organization and tracking of sample shipments and receipts.
- Contribute to developing collection colorways and coordinating lab dip shipments.
- Assist with launching and tracking collection knitting swatches, including creating purchase orders and following up in PLM.
- Support the organization and storage of lab dips, color ranges, and color samples.
- Help create and update materials data sheets and enter compositions in PLM.
- Contribute to materials traceability checks and participate in CSR meetings.
- Help communicate with mills and monitor materials quality.
- Support tracking yarn color approvals to ensure component color compliance.
- Learn about yarn budget tracking and help propose substitutes from available stock.
- Help create color openings in PLM.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree at a fashion or business school; a specialization in product development, textile buying, or merchandising is an advantage.
- Ideally has initial experience in a company; this experience is described as mandatory.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and able to use these tools to structure, track, and report information accurately.
- Familiarity with PLM tools is an advantage, as is knowledge of the textile or fashion industry.
- Demonstrates a strong product sensibility, curiosity about materials and their possibilities, and attention to detail.
- Recognized for responsiveness, autonomy, and rigor.
- Able to manage several tasks simultaneously, take initiative, and thrive in a collaborative environment where interpersonal skills and teamwork are essential.
