Hermès seeks an experienced Inventory Planner in Manhattan, NY to manage strategic product allocation, demand forecasting, and inventory optimization across its boutique network.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage product allocation across boutiques and sales channels according to distribution guidelines and business requirements
  • Build and maintain pre-season and in-season allocation plans, including initial sends, replenishment cycles, auto-replenishment protocols, and inventory rebalancing strategies
  • Develop and establish minimum and maximum inventory levels by item and SKU to drive automated replenishment models across the retail network
  • Monitor inbound distribution centre receipts to inform allocation timing and execution decisions
  • Track store-level sales trends, inventory positions, and stock health metrics to identify optimization opportunities
  • Flag inventory imbalances, stock-outs, overstock situations, and back-of-house capacity concerns for immediate remediation
  • Support back-of-house capacity planning and partner with the Merchandise team to strategically assess overages and growth opportunities
  • Conduct ad-hoc sales analysis and demand forecasting to identify emerging opportunities and mitigate business risks
  • Assess SKU- and store-level product performance to inform assortment and prioritization decisions
  • Develop and enhance allocation reporting and analytics dashboards to support data-driven strategic decision-making
  • Partner with Merchandising, Logistics, Retail Operations, and IT teams to support product launches, seasonal transitions, and key business initiatives
  • Participate in weekly business review meetings, presenting inventory insights, trends, and risk assessments to leadership
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of store profiles by department to adjust replenishment priorities dynamically
  • Upkeep replenishment attribution databases, Power BI dashboards, and stock management tools to ensure data integrity and system reliability
  • Execute additional responsibilities as directed by management or leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Inventory Planning, Retail Planning, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • 2–3 years of professional experience in allocation, planning, or merchandise management, preferably with demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience
  • High proficiency in retail mathematics and Excel, including advanced data analysis, forecasting, and financial modeling capabilities
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and guide team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment
  • Demonstrated confidence in making allocation decisions and recommendations grounded in rigorous data analysis
  • Strong ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, with proven experience managing and interpreting large datasets to drive informed business decisions
  • Demonstrated track record of driving process improvements, developing systematic approaches, delivering measurable results, and resolving issues with a continuous improvement mindset
