The Inventory Control Specialist at Hermès Maison Madison—a flagship boutique in Manhattan established in 1983—is responsible for managing store inventory and supporting the client experience in a fast-paced luxury environment. Reporting to the Shipping & Receiving Director, this role encompasses receiving and merchandising packages accurately on arrival, processing shipments and returns, maintaining cycle counts and bi-annual inventories, and developing strategies to optimize warehouse operations while adhering to asset protection standards. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency with inventory management systems and external shipping software while maintaining meticulous records and collaborating with sales and management teams.
Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and organized store inventory, and organize and participate in cycle counts, bi-annual inventories, and reconciliation with direction from management
- Process all incoming and outgoing shipments within the business day they are generated, ensuring proper documentation is completed
- Check in all returns against previous day's business and process damages while maintaining inventory records
- Print and ticket merchandise, returns, and price updates
- Process, record, maintain, and follow up on all after-sales service requests
- Work collaboratively with store management to analyze business and replenishment needs
- Develop and implement inventory strategies to support the selling process and maintain warehouse standards on a daily basis
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in operations
- Experience in a luxury retail environment preferred
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong ability to analyze information and problem-solve
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in multitasking
- Proficiency with technology to utilize internal systems and external shipping software programs
- Capability to lift 0–25 lbs without assistance

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 22.81 to USD 25.20 per hour.
