Hermès is hiring an Inventory Control Specialist at Maison Madison in New York, NY — responsible for receiving, inventory control, ticketing and after‑sales.
Role & Responsibilities
- Receive and process incoming shipments the same business day; ensure complete and accurate documentation for all receipts, transfers and returns.
- Maintain an accurate, organized store inventory and filing systems; perform daily stock transactions and data entry into internal inventory systems.
- Organize and participate in weekly cycle counts and bi‑annual full inventories; reconcile variances with store management and Operations leadership.
- Ticket merchandise, process price updates and label/prepare items for sale or transfer.
- Process returns, after‑sales service requests and damage reports; maintain damage inventory and follow up on resolution.
- Coordinate packing, shipping, transfers and RTVs to other locations; manage ordering and replenishment of shipping, selling and store supplies.
- Support Store Management and the sales team by analysing stock levels, identifying replenishment needs and developing inventory strategies to support the selling process.
- Adhere to asset‑protection procedures and maintain meticulous records; perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience in operations, inventory control, or a related retail/logistics function; luxury retail experience preferred.
- Proven ability to perform same‑day receiving/shipping and to reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Proficient with internal inventory systems and external shipping software; comfortable with routine data entry and record keeping.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to follow written and verbal policies and directives.
- High attention to detail, demonstrated organizational ability and capacity to multitask accurately in a fast‑paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted.

Experience
At least 2 years of operational or inventory-control experience, preferably within retail; experience in a luxury environment is advantageous.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent; coursework or certification in retail operations, logistics or supply‑chain fundamentals preferred.
