Hermès internship: Leather Development and Sourcing Assistant for Menswear in Paris, 6 months from September 2026.
Role & Responsibilities
- Receive, label, sort, and organize leather research and material samples for validation
- Create and maintain daily leather boards and material displays
- Record leather receipts in the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system
- Develop and maintain collection archives and technical master files for distribution to production teams and suppliers
- Manage leather shipment requests to manufacturing partners and monitor available stock levels
- Monitor chemical testing and compliance procedures in collaboration with the quality and regulatory department
- Request and follow up on recovery of technical data sheets and certificates of origin to ensure traceability of purchased materials
Qualifications
- Student in engineering, fashion design, or business school
- Demonstrated passion for leather and the luxury leather goods industry
- Strong sensitivity to material qualities and innovation in leather development
- Proficiency in Excel including data tracking, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP functions
- Fluent English speaker; Italian language is a plus
- Organized and detail-oriented professional with strong administrative capabilities
- Motivated to gain practical, hands-on experience in leather material development within a prestigious luxury maison
