Hermès Istanbul seeks an Internal Controller (VIE) in Istanbul, Turkey — 12‑month full‑time VIE in Internal Control, Fast‑Track programme.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support deployment of the annual internal control roadmap across stores and local distribution centre (LDC) activities.
- Administer Group self‑assessment questionnaires for stores, subsidiaries and treasury and follow up on responses.
- Monitor and drive the implementation of corrective action plans arising from audits and control reviews.
- Identify and assess operational risks and evaluate the design and effectiveness of key controls.
- Execute internal control reviews and testing of core processes (inventory, purchasing, store operations, compliance).
- Roll out and, where necessary, adapt Group procedures for the local entity and maintain process documentation.
- Coordinate internal control activities: update documentation databases, maintain access to key controls and implement control indicators.
- Raise stakeholder awareness on internal control and compliance topics; support and train operational teams.
- Report internal control incidents and escalate issues to finance leadership as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Eligible for the French VIE programme: citizen of an EEA country or Switzerland; aged 18–28 at registration; not previously completed a VIE; compliant with Business France administrative requirements.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in finance, internal control, audit or a closely related function (internships or first professional roles considered).
- Fluent professional English (written and spoken) is essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal presence, diplomacy and pedagogical ability.
- Curiosity, adaptability, intellectual agility and a practical, hands‑on approach to operations.
- Team‑oriented mindset with an ability to prioritise collective intelligence and collaborate across functions.
- Sense of humour and positive relational disposition appreciated.
Skills
Experience
Minimum one year of experience in finance, internal control, audit or a related operational finance role; prior exposure to retail or store operations is advantageous.
Education
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, auditing, economics or a related discipline; postgraduate study in audit/finance is a plus.
