Hermès Distribution Europe, Paris – 6-month fixed-term Internal Control Manager role supporting e-commerce governance across 18 European countries.
Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain and operationalize the internal control plan in collaboration with operational teams, conducting ongoing reviews of first and second-line controls and ensuring effectiveness against identified operational risks
- Develop and promote a strong control environment and risk management culture, providing expert guidance on sensitive projects and process vulnerabilities
- Conduct quarterly close margin analyses as backup support to the control function, leveraging operational expertise and IT systems knowledge
- Serve as primary liaison to the Group's Audit and Risk department (DAR), ensuring compliance with Group procedures and deploying adapted frameworks for e-commerce activities
- Sensitize operational stakeholders on cross-functional compliance topics including cybersecurity, anti-corruption, personal data protection, and emerging regulations
- Prepare and support internal audit engagements on the business unit's scope, monitor corrective action plans, and disseminate best practices across the Group's internal control community
- Map process flows and risk landscapes within key services to identify control gaps, recommend process enhancements, and implement solutions to address vulnerabilities
- Update and maintain the Hermès Distribution Europe risk map, formalize business continuity planning documentation, and conduct European regulatory monitoring
Qualifications
- Graduate of a business or engineering school
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in audit (Big Four or equivalent), internal audit, consulting, internal control, or management control roles
- Mastery of English as the working language for the European e-commerce team
- Strong ethical standards and professional integrity
- Demonstrated analytical rigor with excellent synthesis capabilities
- Proven capacity to listen, work autonomously, manage projects proactively, and formulate constructive recommendations
- Excellent relationship-building skills and ability to establish trust across diverse stakeholder groups
Skills
Experience
Minimum 3 years of professional experience as an auditor in a Big Four or equivalent firm, internal auditor, management consultant, internal control specialist, or management control practitioner. Demonstrated exposure to retail, e-commerce, logistics, or omnichannel operations is valued. Experience with Group-level compliance frameworks and cross-functional governance across multiple jurisdictions is preferred.
Education
Graduate degree from an accredited business school or engineering institution.
