Hermès is hiring an Infrastructure Maintenance Director on a permanent, full-time basis to oversee maintenance across 30 directly managed sites in the Paris region and provide advisory support to 85 regional sites. The role leads a team of approximately 40, including seven direct reports, and is accountable for infrastructure reliability, security systems, budgets, maintenance strategy, performance and coordination with the Group Real Estate Department.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and develop seven direct reports who manage departments, and oversee the organization and performance of an overall team of approximately 40 people.
- Set individual and collective objectives by department, develop team capabilities and career progression, and ensure alignment and synergy across departments.
- Develop and manage the maintenance budget for the Paris region, oversee the advisory budget for regional operations, optimize preventive, corrective and improvement maintenance costs, and negotiate service-provider and supplier contracts with Procurement.
- Define and implement the building-maintenance strategy; ensure infrastructure availability and performance, supervise multi-technical work across HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems, and ensure building regulatory compliance.
- Ensure the reliability and compliance of security systems; supervise maintenance of critical equipment such as access control and video surveillance, coordinate with security teams, and maintain required certifications and approvals.
- Lead the maintenance department supporting sites outside the Paris region; provide technical and methodological support to regional teams, set maintenance standards and best practices, support maintenance-policy deployment, conduct technical audits and diagnostics, and align practices across Paris and the regions.
- Oversee the Methods and Performance department; define and harmonize maintenance methods, establish and monitor KPIs, drive continuous process improvement, deploy CMMS and digital tools, share best practices, monitor technological and regulatory developments, standardize procedures and operating methods, and ensure implementation of occupational health policy.
- Work closely with the Group Real Estate Department to co-develop technical solutions tailored to Hermès, contribute to construction, renovation and fit-out projects, integrate maintainability from the design stage, align real estate strategy with maintenance, and contribute to technical decisions and specifications.
- Define preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance policy; lead improvement and modernization projects; and anticipate regulatory and technological developments.
- Collaborate with the departments of the Work Environment and Security Directorate, including Real Estate Projects and Fit-Out, Group Security, Employee Services, Procurement, Digital Transformation, and Logistics and Inventory Flows in the Île-de-France region.
- Coordinate work across departments, manage external-provider relationships, represent the maintenance function to management, and liaise with security, HSE and sustainable-development teams.
- Monitor operational performance through infrastructure availability, average response times by maintenance type, preventive-versus-corrective maintenance rates, and regulatory compliance for buildings and security.
- Monitor financial performance through overall and departmental maintenance-budget adherence, maintenance-cost trends, and improvement-project ROI.
- Monitor organizational performance through internal-client satisfaction, maintenance-plan completion, Methods and Performance function results, and the effectiveness of regional advisory support.
- Assess strategic collaboration through the quality of the partnership with the Real Estate Department, the number of bespoke technical solutions deployed, and the integration of maintainability into real estate projects.
