Role & Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day VAT and indirect tax expertise to accounting teams, transport & customs, MOA (project owners) and business stakeholders across French entities.
- Support and review the preparation and filing of VAT declarations (French and foreign VAT), VAT refund requests and related returns (DEB) in a high-volume, complex IT environment.
- Coordinate accounting and transport/customs teams to define and validate VAT at import flows and DEB-declared flows.
- Own indirect tax compliance for French group entities: advise operational teams under the supervision of the Group Tax Director, implement controls and ensure accurate tax postings and invoice fiscal mentions.
- Define and update VAT code parameterisation and exemption annotations in information systems; ensure legal changes are correctly integrated into interfaces.
- Design, deliver and animate VAT training and compliance briefings for accounting teams; maintain ongoing fiscal monitoring and monthly regulatory updates.
- Act as the VAT and indirect tax subject-matter expert for finance system projects (E-invoicing/E-reporting), participating in requirements, testing and ERP functional evolutions.
- Analyse fiscal impacts of new entity integrations and French/international projects; support preparation of tax audits and responses to tax authority information requests.
- Collaborate functionally with the Group Tax Director to align processes, policies and project priorities across the tax perimeter.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree (Bac +5) in taxation, accounting, audit or financial information systems, with formal training in indirect taxation (VAT and indirect taxes).
- Minimum 6 years’ relevant experience in a professional services firm or within the finance/tax function of an international group.
- Proven knowledge of French and EU VAT rules, VAT declaration procedures and indirect tax compliance.
- Methodical, rigorous and adaptable; demonstrated ability to work in project mode and to coordinate cross-functional teams to meet deadlines and legal requirements.

Experience
At least six years of professional experience either in a tax/accounting firm or within the finance/tax department of an international corporate group, with hands-on responsibility for French and EU VAT compliance and involvement in ERP/finance system projects.
Education
Master’s degree (Bac +5) in taxation, accounting, audit or financial information systems with specialised training in indirect taxation.
