Hermès seeks an Indirect Procurement Intern to support the structuring and maturation of the indirect purchasing function, with responsibility for a strategic portfolio encompassing indirect acquisitions and technical leather goods components. The intern will contribute to securing supply chains, controlling costs, implementing operational purchasing practices, and driving continuous improvement across key categories through daily interactions with internal stakeholders and external partners including suppliers and manufacturers.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage product and supplier risk, proposing and deploying risk mitigation plans for technical components
- Support new product referencing with suppliers and coordinate internal validations
- Launch requests for proposals, analyse bids, and participate in commercial negotiations
- Independently manage select purchasing categories
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within assigned categories
- Establish purchasing performance metrics and tools to enhance indirect procurement maturity
- Organize and participate in annual business review sessions
- Evaluate supplier performance across quality, costs, delivery, innovation, and corporate social responsibility
- Develop sustainable supplier partnerships fostering value creation and innovation
- Support the elaboration and deployment of purchasing strategies for indirect acquisition categories
- Identify optimization opportunities and propose performance improvement levers
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (Bac+4) or Master's degree (Bac+5) from an engineering school or business school
- Strong interest in technical and industrial environments
- Demonstrated rigour, analytical mindset, and autonomy
- Fluent English
- Proficiency with Excel and Power BI
