Hermès of Paris — Dayton, NJ: Import/Export Coordinator (temporary) responsible for customs compliance, export documentation and freight coordination.
Role & Responsibilities
- Prepare and validate export documentation for outbound After Sales and exceptional international shipments, ensuring compliance with U.S. and international regulations.
- Coordinate shipments with freight forwarders and couriers, including submission of CITES and Fish & Wildlife paperwork and transmission of documentation to the Transportation Department in France.
- File import entry documentation received from Hermès of Paris brokers in accordance with U.S. Customs requirements and maintain shared shipment records for traceability.
- Monitor shipment status, provide timely updates and concise tracking reports to management, and escalate issues that may impact delivery timelines.
- Support Customer Service to facilitate After Sales processes and maintain required service time frames, cross-train across divisions as needed.
- Participate in compliance training and perform additional duties as assigned; work flexible hours including occasional overtime and extended holiday periods.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years’ practical experience in freight forwarding, transport or logistics (hands‑on internship experience may count toward requirement).
- Familiarity with U.S. import/export regulations and documentation workflows including ISF, TSCA, Lacey Act, CITES and Fish & Wildlife requirements.
- Demonstrable Excel proficiency (V-lookups and PivotTables required) and solid knowledge of Microsoft Office and PowerPoint.
- Ability to calculate dimensional weight, understand incoterms, and apply appropriate judgement on budgeting and cost decisions.
- Physical ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs and operate in a warehouse/distribution environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication, high attention to detail, and proven ability to meet short- and long-term deadlines.

Experience
Minimum of 2–3 years of hands‑on experience in freight forwarding, transport or logistics with exposure to air and ocean operations and associated documentation; experience with after‑sales/export workflows preferred.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, international trade or a related discipline preferred.

Compensation
The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 28.46 to USD 31.45 per hour.
