Hermès seeks HR Business Partner for Northern Region. Manage recruitment, employee relations, and strategic HR initiatives across 9 retail locations in New York. $90–$110k annually.
Role & Responsibilities
- Serve as strategic HR Business Partner for the Northern Region, providing hands-on support through regular physical and virtual presence at store locations and regional meetings
- Manage all aspects of the full-cycle recruiting process and coordinate with talent acquisition teams to ensure alignment with organizational staffing needs and candidate experience objectives
- Maintain employee relations for nine retail store locations by coaching managers, conducting investigations, recommending employment actions, and facilitating dispute resolution in compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws
- Oversee HR headcount budget, new headcount requests, and organizational charts for the region; partner with Compensation Manager on recruitment and hiring budget oversight
- Conduct regular strategic workforce planning meetings with store leaders to review talent, succession planning, and provide coaching recommendations to optimize business performance
- Implement and optimize company talent acquisition and management programs; manage in-house talent systems and vendor relationships to enhance candidate experience and hiring processes
- Manage the annual performance review process and 30/60-day new hire review cycle; develop and maintain performance review content aligned with company goals
- Collaborate with the HR team to support cross-functional initiatives, special projects, and employee engagement programs that enhance the overall employee experience
- Analyze recruiting processes, employee retention statistics, and HR metrics to inform strategic decisions and identify areas for continuous improvement
- Advise store management on disciplinary actions and labor law compliance; ensure consistent and fair application of company policies and procedures across all locations
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an HR Business Partner or equivalent generalist HR role
- Proven experience leading HR functions in a multi-unit retail environment; high volume, high-traffic, and high-visibility settings preferred
- Direct experience in luxury retail and/or service-oriented organizations; direct retail store experience strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of HR policies, procedures, Federal and State employment laws, compliance, and reporting requirements
- Strong expertise in employee relations, talent development, recruiting, and performance management
- Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to coach and empower others
- Strong active listening and counseling capabilities with ability to influence and support others through challenging situations
- Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and HRIS systems for data analysis and presentation
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Sound judgment, critical thinking, and ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously

Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in an HR Business Partner role, with demonstrated success in multi-unit retail operations. Candidates should have hands-on experience in full-cycle recruiting, employee relations management, performance administration, and strategic HR initiatives. Experience working in luxury retail and high-visibility service environments is highly valued, as is direct store-level operational exposure. Familiarity with managing HR budgets, talent systems, and cross-functional HR projects is essential.
Education
Bachelor's degree preferred. Specialized HR certifications (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) or equivalent professional HR qualifications are advantageous but not required.
