Hermès Bijouterie seeks Head of Design & Methods in Pantin to lead technical jewellery development and CAD teams. Full-time CDI.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a technical CAD development team across new product launches, service lines, and after-sales offerings, ensuring technical competency growth and project delivery
- Pilot all projects from initial creative brief (J0) through production release, managing technical risks, timeline adherence, and escalation protocols
- Facilitate monthly Design Direction reviews, balancing creative vision with technical feasibility, product robustness, and manufacturing repeatability
- Oversee the prototyping workshop, including team management, facility coordination, budget administration, inventory tracking, and performance metrics
- Ensure team cohesion, motivation, and cross-functional collaboration with other métier teams and production partners
- Establish and maintain performance tracking tools and governance aligned with métier strategic priorities
- Monitor key performance indicators for the Design Office and Methods department: production cycle times, first-pass quality rates (CAD, plans, milestones), and operational budgets
- Implement and maintain an integrated PDM/PLM system for the Jewellery métier; gather feedback and drive continuous system improvements
- Prepare supporting materials for monthly Design Direction reviews and steering committees
- Identify partnership opportunities and strengthen relationships across departments to ensure agility and collective performance
- Conduct critical process analysis and propose improvements to project management methodologies and métier responsiveness
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, adapting team structure to strategic priorities
- Contribute to internal component and product data base development (components, complex mechanisms, tooling, etc.)
- Maintain proactive engagement with external innovation and industrial trends, including AI-driven tools, to sustain competitive positioning and Hermès craftsmanship heritage
Qualifications
- Mandatory mastery of Solidworks CAD software
- Proven ability to build, structure, and grow high-performing technical teams
- Demonstrated expertise in technical problem-solving and decision-making in demanding environments
- Strong analytical capability and continuous improvement mindset
- Strategic vision combined with operational excellence
- Experience with PDM/PLM systems and digital design governance
Skills
Experience
Minimum 10 years of professional experience in technical design, engineering, or jewellery development, with demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams in complex product development environments.
Education
Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification in mechanical design, industrial engineering, or related discipline.
