Hermès London seeks a Fragrance Expert (6-month FTC) to deliver bespoke scent consultations, lead activations and mentor teams in the flagship store.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Deliver elevated, bespoke in-store fragrance consultations that translate olfactive complexity into personalised client experiences.
  • Demonstrate advanced technical expertise in fragrance families, olfactive profiling and scent layering to recommend and compose tailored accords.
  • Convert product knowledge into emotionally resonant storytelling that links scents to client identity, lifestyle and occasions.
  • Cultivate and maintain long-term client relationships through proactive follow-up and structured clienteling.
  • Drive fragrance business performance by identifying new opportunities across the Maison and supporting commercial priorities.
  • Plan, support and execute fragrance activations, masterclasses and client events both in-store and at external brand moments.
  • Coach and mentor colleagues to elevate fragrance know-how and service standards; design and deliver training aligned with product launches and commercial objectives.
  • Provide commercial feedback and customer insight to merchandising and leadership teams to influence assortment and strategy.
  • Ensure operational and technical excellence: maintain product hygiene, manage client queries, and promote correct use of tools and resources within the team.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in fragrance/beauty within a luxury or premium retail environment.
  • Professional makeup artistry certification and/or fragrance accreditation from an esthetics or make‑up school.
  • Demonstrable advanced technical knowledge of fragrance families, olfactive profiling and scent layering.
  • Experience delivering client-facing activations, masterclasses or VIP events (fashion shows, PR events, etc.).
  • Experience coaching, mentoring or training retail teams.
  • Established network within the beauty industry and strong awareness of luxury beauty trends and competitors.

Experience
