Finance Director at Hermès Brazil – Lead all financial operations, strategy, and business partnering for multinational luxury retailer in São Paulo.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial operations including accounting, tax, treasury, and business controlling functions across multiple teams (Accounting Manager, Treasury Coordinator/Senior Analyst/Intern, Business Controlling Coordinator, and IT Manager)
  • Lead general accounting activities including general ledger review, trial balance verification, and reconciliation control; manage external service provider relationships
  • Ensure fulfillment of all tax obligations including transfer pricing compliance and coordinate external financial audits
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of financial reporting including weekly sales reports, monthly financial statements, and quarterly/annual closings
  • Manage treasury operations including accounts receivable and payable oversight, cash flow management, banking relationships, and payment systems administration
  • Direct business controlling function to monitor financial health through KPI implementation and provide insights on risks and opportunities to Regional CFO
  • Partner with Commercial Director on business analysis and sales forecasting, providing local market insights and assumptions for strategic planning
  • Oversee budget development, execution, and monitoring; support annual budgets and 3-year strategic plans with cost control and margin optimization
  • Manage inventory controls including stock valuations, depreciation analysis, and stock-take reconciliation
  • Direct internal control procedures ensuring compliance with Hermès policies and Brazilian regulations; coordinate with Latam Internal Control Manager on risk mapping and audit execution
  • Serve as primary point of contact for legal matters, coordinating with external counsel and HQ legal department on contracts, board governance, and regulatory compliance
  • Lead IT infrastructure management to align systems with current and future business requirements, including network security and disaster recovery planning
  • Champion strategic projects including new store openings, company organizational changes, operational model transformations, and network best practices implementation

Qualifications

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in organized accounting/finance departments within multinational environments with IFRS reporting
  • Strong expertise in Brazilian Chart of Accounts, fiscal regulations, and administrative processes
  • Demonstrated proficiency with IFRS standards and consolidated financial reporting
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities
  • Experience with financial planning, budgeting, scenario analysis, and KPI development
  • Team leadership and personnel management experience
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English (written and oral); French language skills are advantageous

University degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent business discipline.
