HMM seeks Surface Treatment Technician in Champigny-sur-Marne for electroplating and bath maintenance in luxury metalworking.
Role & Responsibilities
- Monitor and control electroplating baths by verifying pH levels, counter readings, and thermal homogeneity; manage fluid levels and temperature stabilization
- Operate and initiate essential equipment including ovens and compressors; manage hot water bath filling and contact bar maintenance
- Prepare metal surfaces through degreasing and depassivation; apply undercoatings prior to final electroplating deposits
- Conduct routine Level 1 maintenance of plating baths, including weekly cleaning and bath restoration to specifications
- Sample and analyze bath chemistry to ensure compliance with process requirements; adjust bath composition based on analytical results
- Monitor equipment performance and production parameters; escalate maintenance, production, and environmental/health/safety concerns to the Team Leader
- Track and requisition chemical products and materials through the Galvanoplasty Team Leader; coordinate waste disposal protocols, including tank pumping and contaminated drum removal
- Interface with external bath suppliers and maintenance teams responsible for the electroplating station and production line
- Maintain detailed production tracking records using Excel-based systems
Qualifications
- Knowledge of surface treatment processes and electroplating techniques
- Fundamental understanding of electroplating chemistry and bath management
- Proficiency with Excel for production tracking and documentation
- Reliability, punctuality, and conscientiousness in task execution
- Strong observational and vigilance skills; attentive to detail and quality standards
- Organized, methodical, and capable of autonomous work within a structured team environment
- Responsive and dynamic problem-solving ability; proactive communication with supervisors and peer teams
Skills
Experience
Entry-level candidates are welcome; no prior experience required. Candidates with background in electroplating, surface treatment, or metal finishing operations are advantaged.
Education
Secondary education (CAP, BEP, or equivalent) in metalworking, electroplating, or industrial processes is preferred but not mandatory. Willingness to acquire on-the-job technical training is essential.
