Hermès seeks an Embroidery Studio Assistant internship in Pantin, France for Women's Ready-to-Wear design support.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support iconographic and embroidery technique research according to creative briefs, drawing from Hermès archives, internet sources, vintage references, museum collections, books, magazines, sketches, and samples
- Provide creative input to support embroidery development and specific finishing techniques
- Apply pattern knowledge to work on embroidery placement and sizing
- Create sample mock-ups as required
- Prepare technical specification sheets for embroidery suppliers regarding point modifications, technique improvements, colour adjustments, scale, and motif refinements
- Execute embroidery placement layouts in Adobe Illustrator and/or Photoshop
- Maintain and update sample boards and racks daily and in preparation for fittings
- Update computer documentation including embroidery collection plans
- Contribute to daily studio operations and collection progress including shipping, photocopying, scanning, and organisation
- Provide logistical support for fitting preparation including atrium setup and dressing rooms
- Dress mannequins and photograph garments during fittings
- Participate in show preparation including cabin installation, prototype verification, mannequin dressing, and photo retouching
- Archive embroidery samples and seasonal documentation
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an applied arts, textile, or fashion school with prior studio experience
- Must hold a valid internship convention from your educational institution for the full duration of the placement
- Demonstrated sense of colour, composition, and material understanding
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong eye for aesthetics and visual composition
- Knowledge of English and/or Italian is advantageous
- Team-oriented with collaborative spirit
- Demonstrated cultural awareness in fashion and openness to diverse artistic expressions
- High attention to detail and rigorous work standards

Prior experience working within a design studio or fashion atelier is required.
Education
Currently enrolled in an applied arts school, textile programme, or fashion school.
