Hermès Manufacture de Métaux seeks Development Project Assistant intern in Roye for six-month role supporting metal component design innovation and project management.
Role & Responsibilities
- Analyze technical design challenges encountered in previous projects and compile comprehensive problem assessments
- Develop and execute experimental plans to identify key parameters influencing product performance
- Oversee prototype fabrication and coordinate testing protocols to validate design solutions
- Analyze experimental results and derive actionable design rules, comparing findings against existing standards
- Conduct technology watch to identify alternative technologies and innovative solutions
- Support experienced project managers on one or more development projects from brief initiation through mockup phases
- Participate in project scheduling construction and track prototype fabrication progress
- Contribute to industrial cost analysis and pricing calculations
- Monitor subsequent project phases according to advancement within the six-month internship period
Qualifications
- Master's degree (Bac+4/5) or engineering qualification in mechanical engineering or industrial design
- Foundational understanding of metallurgical materials and metal treatment processes
- Familiarity with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software for consulting and manipulating 3D files and creating basic technical drawings
- Knowledge of mechanical design principles, Product Data Management (PDM), and project management frameworks
- Competence in technical specification document drafting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Skills
Experience
Beginners accepted; candidates with academic project experience in mechanical engineering or industrial design are favored. Prior internship or academic coursework involving prototype development and technical problem-solving is advantageous.
Education
Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering, industrial design, or equivalent engineering discipline (Bac+4/5 preferred). Academic training in project management tools (such as MS Project) is advantageous.
