Hermès Maison seeks an experienced CAD Project Manager in Pantin, France to lead technical design, prototyping, and innovation for luxury home furnishings.
Role & Responsibilities
- Model new product developments and explore multiple scenarios involving materials and artisanal techniques to align with creative direction
- Conduct technical feasibility studies including sketches, calculations, regulatory analysis, and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) tailored to project complexity
- Execute 3D modeling and technical design in SolidWorks, including dimensioned technical drawings and functional tolerancing
- Coordinate mockup and prototype development with partner workshops and internal fabrication lab to validate concepts prior to full production
- Participate in and lead development meetings across project phases, managing risk analyses and design reviews through project completion
- Support the industrialization team to ensure manufacturing specifications and technical design alignment
- Oversee prototype testing protocols and dimensional quality control verification
- Develop external network of qualified laboratories, universities, and testing facilities for specialized analyses and numerical simulations
- Maintain and complete technical documentation throughout prototyping phases prior to pre-series launch
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives including CAD tools optimization, material specification enhancement, and process methodology refinement
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Master's level or engineering school diploma) in a relevant engineering or design discipline
- Minimum 6 years of professional experience in a similar technical design and project management role
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD software design tools
- Strong project management competencies with demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional initiatives
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills with demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships
- Fluent in English; Italian language skills are advantageous
- Familiarity with high-end furniture and decorative object manufacturing principles, particularly wood craftsmanship and luxury production techniques
- Sensitivity to contemporary design and aesthetic principles

Minimum 6 years of professional experience in a technical design, engineering, or similar product development role within the luxury home furnishings or high-end manufacturing sector. Proven track record managing concurrent projects from concept through prototype validation and manufacturing scale-up. Demonstrated expertise in working with artisanal production partners and translating artistic intent into technical specifications.
Education
Master's degree or engineering school diploma (Bac+5) in a relevant field such as mechanical engineering, product design, industrial engineering, or a closely related discipline.
