Hermès Maison seeks a Design Engineer Intern in Pantin to support product development from concept to prototype over six months.
Role & Responsibilities
- Translate collection briefs and studio concepts into CAD models and technical specifications
- Collaborate on preliminary sketches and feasibility assessments with the engineering team
- Conduct dimensional and risk analysis; propose multiple scenarios for materials and production methods
- Support CAD modeling and initial technical drawings; define functional tolerances
- Prepare technical justification documentation including calculations and dimensional chains
- Participate in development meetings to review and validate design modifications
- Coordinate with pattern makers through quotation requests and order tracking
- Create comprehensive technical dossiers including specifications, models, and bills of materials
- Accompany manufacturing partners through design review phases, sample approvals, and prototype evaluations
- Update technical documentation and nomenclatures during prototyping phases
- Contribute to project post-mortems and continuous improvement feedback loops
- Explore new design methodologies, cross-functional initiatives, and emerging design tools
Qualifications
- Degree from an engineering school or equivalent advanced technical program
- Proficiency with CAD design tools
