Hermès seeks Department Manager for Paris flagship store to lead shoes and men's silk team. Luxury retail leadership role in prestigious Faubourg location.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of approximately 12 sales associates, ensuring consistent adherence to service and hospitality standards across the department
  • Oversee the floor presence within the shoes and men's silk category, serving as a brand ambassador for Hermès while fostering a cohesive departmental culture
  • Drive sales performance and monitor key commercial indicators including inventory levels, product turnover, and inventory accuracy in collaboration with the Department Director
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with team members, implement targeted coaching programs, and track sales performance metrics to optimize team productivity
  • Develop individual career pathways for team members and support their professional advancement within the organization
  • Ensure multi-functional capability across the department through structured training programs while maintaining expert-level product knowledge
  • Conduct annual and ongoing professional reviews; participate in compensation reviews in partnership with the Department Director
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and the Department Director on recruitment activities including permanent contracts, fixed-term positions, and internship placements
  • Uphold Hermès Culture Client values across all customer interactions and internal communications, ensuring consistent brand experience delivery
  • Track, analyze, and communicate satisfaction metrics and customer experience improvements to the sales team
  • Participate in cross-departmental store initiatives and support operational projects organized by Hermès Distribution France
  • Contribute to strategic planning for the department's product assortment, including participation in collection presentation and procurement decisions

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years of retail or sales management experience in luxury goods
  • Proven track record of team leadership and talent development within a retail environment
  • Strong proficiency with retail systems including Cegid, Excel, and data analysis tools
  • Deep knowledge of and passion for fashion, with demonstrable expertise in footwear and men's accessories
  • Fluent English language skills

Experience

Secondary education required; post-secondary qualification in retail management, business administration, or fashion preferred.
