Compagnie des Arts de la Table et de l’Email (Hermès) in Limoges seeks a Continuous Improvement & Methods Engineer — 12‑month contract.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Plan and pilot operational improvement projects across quality, productivity/capacity, material flow, ergonomics/safety and information systems.
  • Serve as interface between technical development and production workshops to industrialise new products and processes: define methods, draft work instructions and validate process trials.
  • Support production teams in continuous improvement initiatives: identify opportunities, lead optimisation workshops and deploy corrective actions on the shop floor.
  • Define project milestones, ensure on‑site execution and animate cross‑functional working groups using lean manufacturing tools.
  • Produce technical reports and lessons‑learned after project completion; maintain documentation of process changes.
  • Maintain and capitalise fabrication know‑how: update modes opératoires, setup instructions, control criteria and reference parts.
  • Manage technical data: contribute to creation and updates of routings and bill of materials, monitor and adjust operator time data.
  • Engage with suppliers for technological scouting and support qualification of new equipment or consumables.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree (generalist engineering or specialization in industrial methods / continuous improvement).
  • Entry‑level / junior candidates accepted; a first experience in an industrial production environment is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills with the ability to formalise technical solutions and write clear technical reports.
  • Comfortable on the shop floor with a pronounced interest for product and artisanal processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; proven ability to work collaboratively with craftsmen and production teams.
  • Autonomous, pragmatic, proactive and able to take initiative; readiness for regular travel within Haute‑Vienne.
