Hermès seeks a Construction Project Manager in New York to lead retail store construction, renovation, and real-estate projects across the Americas region. $145K–$155K annually.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage the execution of new store projects including temporary stores, renovations, offices, and supportive commercial spaces, maintaining stakeholder communication and family growth objectives
  • Lead all phases of design and construction from concept to closeout, tracking expenses and ensuring cost-effective solutions in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Perform group supportive duties including contract maintenance, invoice payments, project schedule updates, and cost tracking documentation
  • Manage procurement of owner-supplied materials while adhering to Hermès sustainability standards across all project types
  • Maintain construction project schedules using Microsoft Project software and compile updates to the Master Project Data Sheet for deliverables to Hermès International
  • Hold production and project completion to exceptional quality standards and uphold safety and quality standards on construction sites
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes and regulations throughout project execution
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with internal teams, contractors, consultants, and service providers; attend weekly OAC meetings during construction periods
  • Perform site visits to ensure projects are completed as planned and in a timely manner
  • Report cost discrepancies and schedule issues to the Vice President of Store Planning & Construction; identify risks and implement contingency plans to prevent delays or overruns
  • Interface with the internal Facilities team to maintain all stores and develop relationships with cross-functional partners across Operations, IT, Loss Prevention, Visual Merchandising, Procurement, and Special Events
  • Support benchmarking exercises to develop efficiencies and standards related to architects; contribute to vendor and product research to support procurement vetting of new partners

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of relevant construction or real-estate project management experience
  • Previous experience managing multiple retail project types including large-scale boutique stores, temporary stores, minor renovation works, office spaces, and storage facilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience in a store planning group
  • Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving capabilities
  • Clear, transparent communication skills and ability to serve as a trusted liaison among diverse stakeholders
  • Adaptable and flexible approach to evolving project demands with strong graciousness in work ethic
  • Proficiency in managing consulting architects and engineers through luxury retail construction qualification and bidding processes

Education

Bachelor's degree in Construction, Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience in a related store planning function. Candidates with formal construction management certifications or advanced training in real-estate development are advantaged.
