Hermès in Brügg (Bern, Switzerland) seeks a Communications Director for La Montre Hermès to lead PR, events and international brand activation.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Define and implement the communications strategy for La Montre Hermès in alignment with Group Communication directives and the maison’s brand territory (‘le temps Hermès’).
  • Develop international PR and influence activation programs — press, content creators, specialist clubs and retail partners — to raise the brand’s horological visibility and legitimacy.
  • Conceive and oversee immersive events, trade show participation (Salon de Genève) and itinerant exhibitions, collaborating with creative and production teams and external artists.
  • Manage the communications budget (central and local), build business cases and control ROI of PR/media investments.
  • Lead media relations (international and local) and measure media impact and earned coverage.
  • Supervise the creation and delivery of content and assets for web/intranet, printed materials (press kits, brochures, invitations) and point‑of‑sale PLV for internal and external networks.
  • Coordinate retail activation: construction of corners, shop‑in‑shops, external boutiques, and in‑store animation to support commercial objectives.
  • Represent La Montre Hermès at internal and external forums with authority and elegance; serve as member of the Executive Committee of La Montre Hermès SA.
  • Line‑manage and mentor a local and international communications team; foster close cooperation with Commercial, Collection and Creation teams and Group Communication.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in communications, with proven success in a comparable leadership role.
  • Demonstrable experience in PR, media relations, event production and international stakeholder management, ideally within luxury goods and/or watchmaking.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary teams across borders.
  • Track record in budget construction and financial stewardship of communication programmes.
  • Fluent English (pratique courante de l’anglais) and strong written/verbal communication skills.
  • Availability for international travel.
