Hermès is seeking a Ceramics Technical Development Assistant for a six-month, full-time internship beginning in January or February 2027 at its CATE site in Nontron. The intern will contribute to R&D projects involving ceramic products, materials and processes, testing and validation, technical analysis, and collaboration with internal teams and external partners.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and qualification of new products, materials and processes.
  • Work with Production, Quality, Procurement and Supply Chain teams to meet quality, cost and delivery objectives.
  • Help develop new testing and validation methods.
  • Study ceramic materials and processes in compliance with regulatory frameworks.
  • Conduct literature reviews and patent analyses as part of technology monitoring.
  • Help document and report results.
  • Collaborate with external partners, including suppliers, subcontractors and laboratories.
  • Support complementary projects that enrich the internship experience.
  • Work with all stakeholders to co-develop sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing an engineering degree or a master's degree in materials or a generalist discipline, with an interest in deepening knowledge of ceramics or industrial processes.
  • Recognized for rigour, analytical thinking and the ability to structure a methodical approach.
  • Able to build strong working relationships, listen, seek advice and work in cross-functional environments.
  • Proficient with common computer tools and able to present work clearly and to a high standard.
